A Variety of Musical Styles

Be creative with your openings, transitions, and closings using Afro-Caribbean percussion in amazing ways. Here are some musical styles you can choose from for your events:
  • Primitive Party Music: This is a solo conga and percussion performance.
  • Tribal Rage: This is a percussion ensemble that will give you an unforgettable percussion party for listening and dancing.
  • Accompaniment: This includes conga and percussion for orchestra, band, recording, or recorded music overdubbing.

Afro-Caribbean Percussion Workshops

Introduction to African and Afro-Caribbean Hand Percussion
A workshop for children or adults. Count on the best conga lessons you can get! Participants will play, chant, move, and sing in this group workshop that offers:
  • Background on African and Afro-Caribbean Percussion with an emphasis on Conga drums
  • Basic Conga and hand percussion techniques
  • Selected Traditional Rhythms of the African Diaspora
(Instruments will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own.)
African Shekere and Mixed Hand Percussion
In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of the shekere, guiro, shakers, tambourine, maracas, claves, cowbell, cascaras, and cabana. (Instruments will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own.)
Classes can be taken individually or in groups. Workshops and performances are available for schools, businesses, conferences/conventions. Performances are available for rousing entertainment, background mood music, weddings/birthdays, and other celebrations. You can use Babasango for recording sessions and music overdubbing as well.
